First, I stamped out the images I needed from the Avery Elle Camping Critters stamp set. Since I wanted to color the images with my Copic markers, I stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Then, I cut out the colored images with the coordinating dies.
To create the background, I cut two slimline scallop rectangles from Bristol Smooth cardstock using the Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing die set. I used the included grass die to cut the grass for the bottom of the card from one of the rectangles. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, and Squeezed Lemonade with Picket Fence Studios blending brushes to create the vibrant evening sky. For the grass, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. After ink blending, I used a set of watercolor paint to add splatters in coordinating colors.
I stamped one of the sentiments from Camping Critters on black cardstock with VersaMark Watermark Ink and heat embossed using Lawn Fawn White Embossing Powder. I die cut the sentiment using one of the My Favorite Things Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips.
To attach the grass to the sky, I used a Lawn Fawn glue tube so I would have time to move it around and make sure it was attached correctly. I also used the glue tube to attach the tent, campfire, sentiment strip, and fireflies to the card. To give the card a little depth, I used foam tape to attach the main characters.
Lastly, I attached the entire card front to a card base folded to 3.5” x 8.5”
