"Elphie Selfie" Mini Cards + Envelopes

Posted by Daniella Souligny on 16th Jan 2021

Hi creative friends, SweetD here from SweetDcreations11 and I’m back with an adorable & easy set of mini cards with envelopes, that are sure to make you smile!! Handmade cards are so special because they truly come from the heart and they are my most favorite way to let someone know I’m thinking of them. This mini set of 6 cards is seriously so easy to create in any pattern or color combo you’d like. It takes no time at all but they are seriously packed with extra cuteness!! I hope you’ll enjoy following along for this exciting mini card project.

Step 1: With Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham pattern paper & Small Stitched Envelope die set, I cut 6 envelopes one of each color, and then a heart in each color as well for some contrast.

Step 2: I then cut 6 mini card bases from 80lbs plain white card stock to measure 4 1/4x 3 1/4 then scored each down the middle at 2 1/8 in.

Step 3: Using the same 6 coordinating colors of gingham paper I cut a smaller strip to go on the front panel of each card measuring 1 1/2 x 3 1/4 in, then using Lawn Fawn Circle Stackables I cut a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 in circle for each card front.

Step 4: Next using Lawn Fawn Scalloped Circle Stackables (2nd from smallest) I die cut 6 out of 80lbs plain white card stock.

Step 5: I Then used Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie stamp set to create mini scenes with various images on the scalloped white circles. Each image is from Elphie Selfie, and was stamped in Lawn Fawn Manatee ink. I used the smallest elephant in the set because he was just so cute, and fit perfectly with each coordinating image I wished to use.

Step 6: I built all of the envelopes using double sided Scor-TapeTombow Mono Multi glue for the hearts.

Step 7: Mixing and matching the colors I thought looked best together I then adhered all the gingham paper strips to the card bases, and the circles with the coordinating color that matched the heart on each envelope, such as (grey envelope with pink heart, grey strip & pink circle) with Tombow Mono glue.

Step 8: I did a tiny bit of shimmer ink blending to the edges of each scalloped circle, using Memento Dew Drops Brilliance in the color Platinum. Then picked which mini scene looked best with each colored card base & assembled the scalloped circle mini scenes to each with Tombow Mono glue.

And that’s it!! Once you’ve made a few of these they get even easier to assemble and mass produce, they would be super adorable as Valentine’s for the kiddos to pass out at school, thank you notes, or just as mini messages to let someone special know your thinking of them!! I love using theses for gift cards as well because they are the perfect size and can really be dressed up or down for any occasion. I hope you have enjoyed this step by step guide, and will give it a try. Have a wonderful day & happy crafting!!
