Hello and welcome back to the ScrapbookPal.com blog. It’s Carrie Rhoades here today sharing with you the Way to Goat stamp set from HoneyBee Stamps. This is a huge stamp set with lots of cute farm animals, including 5 goats. It also has the fun little image that are great for filling a scene, as well as sentiments! I paired a couple other Honey Bee stamps items with this set to make a cute farm inspired scene.
Where I live in Idaho I need only go a couple streets away to see goats and let me tell you baby goats are so darn cute! But for today’s card I wanted to focus on the two adult goats in this set.
Aren’t they cute! All the images you see on the front of this card are from the Way To Goat stamp set, including the sentiment. I stamped all the images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink onto Copic friendly white card stock. Then I colored in all the images using Copic Markers. I cut them out with the coordinating die set.
Let’s take a closer look at how I made the rest of this 5” x 7” card.
For the sky, I used the new Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink and applied that around the top and sides of a 4-⅗” x 6-¾” piece of white card stock. I then blended the color out into the center of the panel.
For the hill, I stamped the Buffalo Plaid background stamp on to a piece of light yellow card stock with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. Then I die cut this panel with the Mushroom border die set by Lawn Fawn, to create the hill shape. I dusted on some Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink to the top edge of the hill. I wanted to brighten up this panel a little more so I pressed the stamp pad onto my glass mat and sprayed the ink with a bit of water. I was then able to use that to splatter on a bit of Wild Honey ink. This created a nice hill for my goats to stand on. I wanted to look like a field of wheat or hay. Versus a green grassy hill.
I used the Barn Scene Builder die set by HoneyBee Stamps to die cut the fences, bails of hay and the windmill.
To give all of the die cuts more dimension, I used my Copic Markers to add some shadow.
I stamped the sentiment in between the two fences with Versafine Onyx Black ink so that it would show up nicely over the top of the stamped hill panel. For highlights I used a white Gelly Roll pen on all of my stamped images and some of the die cuts as well.
I wanted a little heart between the two goats, so I used my Autumn Red Nuvo drops to create one.
I added a 1” strip of stamped card stock to the inside of the card, left over from creating the hill. The bunny and flower were the perfect little touch to finish off this card.
