Spooky Scene Mini Cards by Julene

Posted by Julene Vankleeck on

I see so many amazing backgrounds using ink blending but I just can't seem to get a smooth blend. So instead I used distress inks with a wet brush to create my spooky night skies.

Step 1. Stamp Lawn Fawn Spooky Village images on Neenah Solar White paper with Memento black ink and color with Copic markers. Die cut all images.
Step 2. Cut Strathmore Bristol paper into a long strip measuring 3 inches by 11 inches.
Step 3. Apply Tim Holtz Distress ink onto craft mat. Colors used are Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Wild Honey. Use wet paint brush to apply ink to the Bristol paper to make a spooky night sky. I painted one long strip so I had continuity in my background, but you could do each square different also! I then used my heat gun to dry the ink.
Step 4. Die cut painted background into 4 squares using Lawn Fawn Flippin Awesome die.
Step 5. Die cut black card stock with MFT grassy edge die (Lawn Fawn Alternative) and size to fit squares.
Step 6. Build scenes with grassy borders and colored die cut images and adhere to painted squares.
Step 7. Stamp out bats and sentiments from Lawn Fawn Spooky Village black Versafine ink.

My plan is to use these with the Lawn Fawn Flippin Awesome die, but they also would be super cute as mini cards tied to bags of Halloween treats!
