Welcome Little One Card

Posted by Mahala Kiss on

Hello everyone!

Today I’m sharing a sweet shaker card for welcoming a new little one into the world. I used Swan Soirée from Lawn Fawn and made a pond shaker for some added fun!

Here’s how I did it:

I started with coloring images from the Swan Soirée stamp set. I colored 2 large swans, 1 small swan, 1 heart, and 2 cattails. See the list of Copics I used below if you are interested! I then cut these out with the coordinating dies.

Die cuts: I die cut 1 stitched pond frame in a light blue cardstock and 1 out of double sided foam tape. I then die cut 1 stitched pond out of a darker blue cardstock and 1 out of acetate.

To assemble I used a lawn fawn glue tube to glue the frame onto the acetate. Once dry, I adhered the foam tape to the outline of the acetate (on the other side opposite of the frame). I filled the shaker with glitter and confetti, and then adhered the other side of the foam tape to the light blue stitched pond. Yay you now have your shaker element!

For the background I started with a 5.5 x 4.25 inch white cardstock. I then ink blended using tumbled glass distress ink and used my mini ink blending tool. I used the broken chevrons stencil by Altenew to create this gorgeous look.

For the sentiment I stamped the “welcome” and “... little one” from the swan soirée set on white cardstock and cut out the strips.

Finally- it’s time to assemble! I adhered the pond shaker onto the background, the swans and cattails onto the pond, and the sentiment strips onto the card where I thought it looked best! I then adhered the finished card onto an 8.5 x 5.5 inch card base.

Finished!!

Thank you for checking out this post! I hope you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!
