Avery Elle Father's Day Card, Treat Bag, and Gift Tag

Avery Elle Father's Day Card, Treat Bag, and Gift Tag

Posted by Carrie Rhoades on

Hello crafty friends! It’s Carrie Rhoades here, always happy to be sharing on the Scrapbook Pal blog and YouTube channel! I’ve been so excited to play with the Peek-a-Boo Jungle stamp set from Avery Elle for a while now. I thought it would be good to create some cute things for Father’s Day. So, I made a card, treat bag and gift tag. I had fun combining this stamp set with some of my other favorite Avery Elle products.

First let’s check out the card.

I wanted to create a jungle scene and thought it would be cute to use the Peek-a-Boo car to look like some critters were off on a safari in a jeep. I put the lion and giraffe in the car, but put their heads in front of the outline of the card instead of behind which gives it the look of an open top jeep, I think.

I used the Leafy Frame die set to create the frame. I die cut it twice from two different shades of green card stock. Then I rotated one and adhered them together for a look of depth. I also stamp several of the leaves from the Peek-a-Boo Jungle stamp set to add to the look of the jeep busting out of the jungle.

Another thing I added to give it that jungle feel is the little bird, who is actually from the Market Stand stamp set. He looks so cute perched atop the sentiment.

For my second project I wanted to make a little treat to go with the card. So, I pulled out one of my favorite dies, the Treat Topper die, to make a goodie bag.

Isn’t this the cutest little die cut, perfect for a 4” x 6” cellophane bag and it has the little handle!

I wanted a little jungle critter that could hang upside down from this topper, so I pulled out my Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set and used the sloth. The monkey from this same set would be cute too. I added black outline to this sentiment with a fine line black pen and love how it looks! This project is the perfect little thing to give with the card and either one could have a Happy Father’s Day sentiment written or stamped on them.

I also thought a tag to match would be great to add to a Father’s Day gift.

The circle frame from the Leafy Frame die set makes for the perfect tag. Again, I die cut two from different shades of green card stock, overlapped them and adhered them together for a fuller look. I mounted this to a die cut circle that is 2-¾” around. I then used a paper piercer to create the hole for my twine. The Zebra is the easiest image to color in the Peek-a-Boo Jungle stamp set. I used some warm gray markers (W0, W2) to add some shading and was done.

I love having a coordinating set that will make my Father’s Day gift extra special.

Make sure to check out the video on the making of these projects.
