Clean and Simple or Simply Elegant

Clean and Simple or Simply Elegant

Posted by Marla Harris on

Hello, my crafty friends.  It's Marla here, back with a new card share.  It's hard to believe as we weather the winter storms that wedding season will be here before you know it.  The new Catherine Pooler "This Calls for Champagne" stamp set has so many possibilities for many celebrations including retirement, birthdays and of course, my choice today, weddings.  Let's jump into how I created my clean and simple card.
I started with the Catherine Pooler's "Hooray for Confetti" background stamp. I like how this background stamp has the perfect balance between elegant and festive.  I inked the stamp with Versamark ink and stamped onto black cardstock.  Next, I added gold embossing powder and used my heat tool to melt the powder.  Then, I tore the embossed cardstock leaving both a clean and tattered edge. To the tattered edge I added more Versamark ink and gold embossing powder and melted it.
Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and heat embossed the "Wishing You A Happily Ever After" sentiment from Catherine Pooler's "Cheers to You" stamp set using the same ink and embossing powder.  Then, I cut a 1/4" piece of gold foil cardstock. I adhered both the gold foil cardstock and the torn embossed accent piece to the left side of the panel.  For dimension, I added foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered it to an A2 top folding card base.
I finished the card by added the champagne glasses from the "Cheers to You" stamp set that I heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder. The card is simple, yet elegant.  Perfect for the upcoming wedding season.
