Clean & Simple Winter Card with Honey Bee Stamps

Clean & Simple Winter Card with Honey Bee Stamps

Posted by Simeen Batra on

Hi crafty friends, it's Simeen from @simeen-creates! Today I’m excited to share a clean and simple winter card I created using the Winter Song stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps. This set includes the most beautiful and intricate winter bird, and even though it’s perfect for coloring, I wanted to try something a little different this time. So I decided to let the image shine in a bold but simple way using a color block ink-blending technique.

✨ How I Made It

1. Masking + Ink Blending
I started by masking off a simple rectangle in the center of my card panel. This instantly gives you a clean, modern look.
For the blend, I used three Distress Oxide inks:

  • Scattered Straw

  • Peacock Feathers

  • Faded Jeans

These colors blend beautifully together and create a lovely wintery glow.

I really wanted the bird to feel like it was glowing—almost as if it were perched in soft winter light—without having to color the detailed image. A blended background felt like the perfect way to highlight all that gorgeous line work.

2. Stamping the Bird + Sentiment
Once the ink was completely dry, I stamped the winter bird and my sentiment right over the blended area using my Misti and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The crisp black lines pop so nicely against the color block and let all the pretty details of the bird stand out without any coloring at all.

3. A Little Sparkle
To finish everything off, I added a few gems from Gina K. Designs for a touch of sparkle. It’s just enough shine to elevate the card while still keeping things clean and simple.

❄️ Finished Look

And that’s it! A modern, minimalist winter card with a soft glow and a beautiful focal image—no coloring required. I love how quick this design is, and you could easily switch up the colors for different moods or seasons.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing this crafty moment with me. I can’t wait to show you more projects as part of the ScrapbookPal Design Team.

Until next time, happy crafting! 🫶🏻
