Hello everyone!! Sarah (@mother0froyalty on IG) here to share my first Valentines day card with you. This new Gina K. Serene Sea life set is so adorable and the fact that you can get it as a stamp/die set combo is fantastic!!
This card is very simple, a little ink blending and some copic coloring and that's really about it. But I really think it turned out cute! I started with my stamping of these cute little seals and set them to the side to dry a little before I started coloring them.
While the seals and my sentiment were drying I pulled out some distressed oxides in Spun sugar, Saltwater taffy, Worn Lipstick and festive berries. I grabbed my blending tool and started on the edges of my paper with my darkest color that I was using for this, Worn lipstick. Then I spent time switching between the colors from darkest to lightest into the center until they were blended well.
Once I had everything blended, I grabbed the festive berries and smooshed it on some plastic, grabbed a paint brush, added some water and added my splatted. I went with festive berries so that it would be a little darker then the colors of the background. I wanted a little gold and I love the shine that the Distress Spritz in Fossilized Amber leaves behind like you splattered gold on it so I grabbed that and added some splatters with it. Then set it aside to dry.
Here is when I pulled out my Copics and started to color. I'm not an expert in any way! But I like to color with them and learn new combos. I started with my smaller seal, making it lighter and then the larger seal and changing up the colors a bit and making it darker. Once I was done with that I fussy cut my sentiment and glued it down. At this point I decided I wanted to use some if the cute hearts from the stamp set and stamp them on the background, so I did. Then I added some 3D foam the my card panel and my seals and adhered them down.
That finished this cute and simple card and I love the way it turned out and I can't wait to play with more of these fun sea creatures again! Make sure to go check out the Youtube channel so you can see all the amazing things that have been created!
