Gina K. "Grateful Blooms" Card by Kreative Kinship

We love coloring a beautiful floral image, and the Grateful Blooms stamp set by Gina K Designs doesn't disappoint. Adding a simple border to the card panel using a hot foil plate and black glimmer foil helps to ground the focal point and a foiled sentiment using the same glimmer foil completes the card.

We began by stamping all the flowers and leaves using Copic-safe ink (Memento Tuxedo Black). We weren’t sure what images we would need for our card, so we stamped them all. We left the stamps inside our stamping platform so that we could restamp the black ink after the coloring was complete.

All the images were colored using Copic markers (the colors used are listed in the supply list at the end of this post).  Dark brown and black colored pencils were used to add additional depth and shadow to the flowers.  Once the coloring was complete, the cardstock was put back into the stamping platform and the images were restamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink to make the lines darker and more defined.  After the ink had completely dried, all the images were cut out using the coordinating dies.

Using the largest Duo Line Rectangle glimmer plate, a border was added to an A2-sized card panel using black glimmer foil.  A sentiment was also foiled using the same black foil and then the sentiment was cut out using the coordinating die.

To create dimension and help the main floral image stand out on the card panel, the coordinating die was used to cut the floral outline from plain white cardstock three times. Precision Craft Glue was used to adhere the stacked layers, which were then glued to the back of the colored floral image.

The flowers and additional leaves were arranged on the foiled card panel and everything was glued down once the placement was determined.  The sentiment was glued to the top of the floral image and the panel was then adhered to a piece of blue-violet colored cardstock measuring 5” x 6.25”.  The finished panel was then adhered to a side-folding card base measuring 5” x 6.25” to complete the card.

Crafty Hugs!
