Holiday Card with a Magical Twist by Katie

Holiday Card with a Magical Twist by Katie

Hey there friends, Katie here today with my first ScrapbookPal blog post!  Whoop!.  Today I have a fun holiday card for you!  This card is filled with traditional holiday colors and fun, but also has a non-traditional and magical twist.  I had a ton of fun making it, so I hope you like it!  Here is my card:

Here is how I made this card.  First, I stated by stamping my images from Lawn Fawn Giant Holiday Messages, Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends, and Lawn Fawn A Little Sparkle using my Misti and Black Momento ink. Next, I colored my fairy images using my Copics (Skin- E00, E02, E51, E13, E15,  Wings- B000, Dresses- YG17, YG25, YG11, R37, R35, R14, Hair- C7, C5, C1, YR23, Y15, Y13).

Below you can see how I colored the hair of the biggest fairy, starting with the darkest color YR23 and feathering in with plenty of space in the middle.

Then, I feathered in the Y15, overlapping the YR23 towards the middle, but still leaving white space in between.

The last color added to bridge the gap was Y13 and I added it across all the hair to blend it.  You can see how it creates the look of shine on the hair.

Next, I used the Hero Arts Infinity Oval Die to cut out my sentiment panel to fit inside the scalloped oval from the LF Giant Messages Die.  I also cut out the LF die, but used red cardstock.  Using both allowed me to have the sentiment on white, but show off the scalloped edge as well.  I colored in the words and leaves using the same Copics and then adhered these layers together.

I put this all aside and set up my base of white cardstock.  I used some red snowflake DP for my background, cut to 4 X 5.25 and mounted it on the white.  I used foam tape to mount the sentiment and scalloped oval.  Then I added in my fairies that were cut with coordinating Lawn Fawn Dies.  I decided it needed a little bit more, so I stamped and colored one of the pinecones and the little fairy wand and added them in.

Here is an up close of the finished product. I hope you enjoyed this post today and will visit me here again.
