What makes this set so much fun is how effortlessly you can build a complete scene using layered die cuts. The Lovely Layers: Man Cave dies include all the essentials for the ultimate game-day hangout—from a comfy couch and big screen TV to sports gear, wall décor, and even little mugs of beer. Each element layers together beautifully, creating dimension and detail without complicated techniques.
For this card, I started by creating a bold blue background to give the scene a cozy evening vibe. Then I added the fun postage-style layering panels using the Pinkfresh Studio Nested Rectangles Postage Edge Dies, which help divide the card into little themed sections—almost like snapshots from a game-day hangout. This design trick adds visual interest while giving each die-cut element its own space to shine.
Next came the best part—assembling all the die-cut pieces! I built the cozy seating area with the bright red couch and potted plant, then added the TV setup along with sporty details like the foam finger and pennant. These little accents really help tell the story of a relaxing day spent watching the game.
To bring everything to life, I used foam adhesive on many of the die cuts to create layers and depth across the card. This helps the elements stand out and gives the finished project a fun dimensional look—perfect for a scene card like this one.
To finish the design, I stamped the sentiments “It’s Your Day” and “Eat, Drink, & Be Lazy!” from the Game Time Stamp Set. It ties the whole theme together perfectly and captures that classic game-day lounging vibe. A few gems scattered around the card add a little sparkle and polish while keeping the focus on the playful scene.
This card is a great reminder that die-cut scene building can be both simple and impactful. With thoughtfully designed layering dies like the Lovely Layers: Man Cave set, you can create detailed storytelling cards without a lot of complicated steps.
