Hi crafty friends! Today I'm sharing how I made this clean and simple "Just BEE-cause" card.
Step 1: First, I stamped the adorable bee from the Honey Bee Stamps Bee Mine clear stamp set onto white cardstock using a Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam Ink pad and my mini Misti stamping tool, colored it with Copic markers, added white highlights with a gel pen and cut it out.
Step 2: To make my background, I taped low tack purple tape onto the left side of my A2 white card base so it covered about 1/4" of the base. Then I taped another strip of low tack purple tape onto the right side, leaving space the width of my colored bee in between my two strips of tape.
Step 3: Starting from the bottom of my card, I blended various distress oxide inks onto my card base in the white space in between my two pieces of tape using Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes. I started from the bottom with Ranger Ink - Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink, then blended Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink in the middle, and then Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide ink and Salty Ocean distress oxide ink on the top portion of the taped off strip.
Step 4: Next, I glued my colored bee on top of the blended colored strip using a Lawn Fawn glue tube.
Step 5: To finish my clean and simple card, I stamped the "JUST bee-cause" sentiment to the bottom right portion of my card base using a Gina K. Designs Obsidian Amalgam Ink pad and my mini Misti stamping tool.
