Hi everyone, it is Ricky on the blog today. I am showing you how to make a galaxy background card using alcohol inks. Be sure to watch my video on the Scrapbookpal.com YouTube channel for even more details.
I first started with pulling out some of my favorite alcohol ink colors. You will want to use colors that show up in galaxies which quite honestly is all of them. I decided to go with some blues, purples and some silver alloy. You can find them here. Alternatively, you can use COPIC refills for this as well which can be found HERE.
I dropped ink all over the yupo sparkle paper. I then dropped some black alcohol ink onto the surface and spread that around. You will want it to cover some places, but then leave other open. You want the effect of a galaxy. I cute this to 4 x 5.25 so that a nice white border is left around it.
I then used the stamp set by Lawn Fawn called Out Of This World. I stamped this out in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink which is great for Copic coloring. I pulled out some of my favorite colors and color the planets. Then use some grays and blues for the little boy. I then used the matching dies to cut the figures out.
I then took some scrapbook adhesive squares and popped those on the backs of the planets, the rocket and the astronaut. Then I took the sentiment from the stamp set and white heat embossed it on black card stock. I cut those out using some strip dies in my stash. I placed adhesive on the back of the sentiments and then arranged them nicely on the card.
Then I placed this card panel on a card base cute at 4.25 x 11 and folded in half as a top folding card. Then you are done!
Thanks for hanging around and please be sure to check out the video as well!
Stay safe,
Ricky
