Hello and Welcome to the Scrapbook Pal Blog! April Leithner (@inkycreationswithapril) here with a fun spring card featuring NEW sets from Lawn Fawn. Lawn Fawn has adorable critter sets, and the Build-a-Bird Feeder Die Set is amazing. I love to see birds feasting at a bird feeder. The Tree Branches Backdrop is such a great background die, and it comes in both portrait and landscape style. You can find all of these products in the Scrapbook Pal shop!
· Die cut the Tree Branches – Portrait Die using kraft cardstock.
· Die cut both sizes of leaves from the Tree Branches Die Set using two different shades of green cardstock.
· Adhere leaves to tree branches. Set aside.
· Die cut pieces needed from the Build-a-Bird Feeder Die Set. Use color cardstock for all the pieces. Use brown for one type of birdseed and gold for the other type of birdseed. Die cut multiple times to have lots of birdseed. Die cut inside piece of bird feeder twice from acetate. Also die cut two colored pieces for the bird feeder frame.
· Die cut an additional 5 pieces of the bird feeder frame from white cardstock. Adhere these together.
· Color beaks of birds using a Y17 Copic Marker.
· Adhere all pieces together.
· Adhere a piece of acetate to both the front and back frame of the birdfeeder.
· Adhere the stacked white frame pieces to the front of the back frame, then fill with birdseed. Make sure all the seeds are facing up. Adhere front frame to create a shaker. If using liquid adhesive, give this time to dry.
· Use a Large Spellbinders Blending Brush plus Sky Blue and Summer Shower Ink from Pink Fresh Studio Morning Sky Mini Cube Pack to softly ink blend a sky on a piece of A2 white cardstock.
· Stamp “YUM” from the Lawn Fawn Backyard Bird Feeder Stamp Set using Sky Blue Ink randomly over the sky background panel.
· Adhere tree branch panel to sky panel.
· Adhere bird feeder over the tree branches making sure to tuck the top of the black hanger under the edge of the kraft cardstock at the top of the card.
· Stamp and emboss sentiments from the Backyard Bird Feeder Stamp Set and use the Coordinating Backyard Bird Feeder Dies sentiment strip die to die cut all the sentiments.
· Adhere birds, and seeds to bird feeder.
· Use thin small Foam Squares to pop up sentiments around card panel.
· Adhere a few extra leaves on bird feeder and near a couple sentiments.
· Adhere this panel to a top fold heavy weight card base.
· Use a White Gel Pen to add a few highlights on bird feeder, birds and a few leaves.
I hope this card inspires you to make a fun die cut shaker card. This card illustrates that you can have a focal point be a small shaker on the card instead of making a full panel shaker. Shaker cards are always loved by those who receive them. Make sure to check out the new Lawn Fawn products in the Scrapbook Pal Shop. There are so many good sets like these used to create this card. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!!
