Lawn Fawn's Heart Pouch Die

Posted by Kay Norman on

Hey! It's Kay here today showing you how to make the Lawn Fawn Heart Pouch Dies and the Dotted Hearts Add-on.

Let's assemble our first heart pouch.

Step 1 - Cut out two heart pouch dies, fold and crease on the fold lines.  As shown below, add some double-sided adhesive to the flaps. I used 1/4" Scrappy Tape. You will only need one end flap so you can cut one of them off. I cut the end flap on the bright pink heart.

I used two coordinating patterned papers but you could use cardstock or the same patterned paper for both sides.

Step 2 - Remove the paper on the adhesive and adhere the end flap as shown below. Then assemble the pouch by forming the sides and adhering the tape.

Below is the view of the bottom of the heart pouch.

The image below shows the assembled heart pouch.

Adding ribbon or twine to the heart pouch.

Step 3 -  Cut a 12"-14" piece of twine (or ribbon) and thread it through the back two holes, bringing the twine through the two holes on each inside piece and then through the front as shown in the image below.

Now you will be able to tie it in the front.

Tie it in a bow and cut off any excess twine.

I added a little cardstock bow using the bow die that's included as well as the stitched heart for a little tag.  I also inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Festive Berries.

Now for another example:

For this "LOVE YOU LOTS" heart pouch I also inked the edges but with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry. Then cut out the stitched banner from the Lawn Fawn Fancy Wavy Banners and used the Lawn Fawn Wavy Sayings clear stamps to emboss "LOVE YOU LOTS" with Lawn Fawn's white embossing powder.

I adhered that with some Scrapbook Adhesive Foam Squares to the front of my pouch and added a black bow. I cut out two white lacy heart strips (included) and added them to both sides of the heart pouch. I then cut a heart strip from silver glitter cardstock so I could use the tiny hearts as an embellishment on the top with an XO from the XOXO dies (also included in the set).

Now let's use the Lawn Fawn Heart Pouch Dotted Hearts Add-on die.

After cutting out a red cardstock heart pouch piece, I put the add-on die face down onto the front side of my cardstock and secured it with some removable tape to keep it in place.

Run it through your die cut machine and now you have some cute dotted hearts imprinted into your cardstock.

I did this again, but with white cardstock for the other side of my heart pouch below.

I also cut out a red, white and black lacy heart strip and adhered the red strip to the white side and the white strip to the red side. I saved the tiny red hearts together with the hearts from the black strip to add to the front of my heart pouch. The dotted heart add-on has little circles that go around the heart and that's where I added the tiny hearts.

I cut out a stitched heart and added it to the center and made a cute little XOXO tag and wired it to the red ribbon I used to thread through my heart pouch.

I used Dove chocolates for one of my pouches and Reece's Peanut Butter Hearts for the another one. About 6 pieces fit inside. You could also use M&M's, Conversation Hearts or other kind of treat to fill the inside.

For my last heart pouch I used the same patterned paper for both sides of my pouch and added the lacy strips to the sides and an XOXO tag.

I wanted you to see the cute heart pouches I made with this fun die!  These would be great for your kids school class, dance class or sports team. Or a friend or neighbor to say Happy Valentine's Day!

Enjoy the endless possibilities with Lawn Fawn's Heart Pouch and Dotted Hearts add-on die. Hope you have as much fun as I did!
