Welcome back to the blog. It's Marla here today and I am sharing my final post for the 2023/24 dt season. My last design features a few Spellbinders products and one of my all-time favorite Hero Arts background stamps. Let's talk about this fall card, shall we?
To begin my project, I pulled out my die cutting machine and several sheets of card stock. I created an A2 top folding card base using white cardstock. Next, I cut my background panel with the largest 4.25" x 5.5" Lawn Fawn
Stitched Rectangle die and cream cardstock. I stamped the panel with Pinkfresh Studio Basil Ink and Hero Arts
Acanthus background stamp. I just love the rustic style of this stamp, especially for fall cards. Moving on I combined two of the Spellbinders
Essential Arches dies to create a frame from colored cardstock and an insert cut from cream card stock. Then, to add texture, I pulled out my crimping tool and ran the insert through it.
Moving on to the focal point of the card. I used colored card stock to cut the adorable fox, butterfly and flowers with Spellbinders
Finley the Fox die. I also used Spellbinders
Woodland Tales Floral die to cut out an additional leaf cluster. The rust-colored leaves are part of the flower die. Now, that everything was cut, I assembled Finley, the butterfly and the delicate flower clusters.
Finally, I assembled the card. I added
foam tape to the assembled arch and arranged the foliage around the frame. The sentiment is from an older Spellbinders die set from my stash.
