Hello crafters and welcome to the ScrapbookPal Blog!
My name is Deepa from @deezinesbyd and today I have 3 beautiful, foiled cards to share with you – no specialty cardstock needed!
These cards feature a mix of products from the Stylish Ovals Collection by Spellbinders. I used the Infinity Punch & Pierce Die for the foiled backgrounds, the Stylish Ovals Thanks and Stylish Ovals Floral Bird for the focal points on two cards and I added some butterflies from the Fluttering By Glimmer Set. The key to making these cards without specialty cardstock is to use the Pinkfresh Studio Solid Plate and Spellbinders foils. This way your custom specialty cardstock matches your detailed foiling as well. For a more in-depth look at how to make your own metallic specialty cardstock and to see how these cards came together, simply click the ScrapbookPal YouTube link below.
I simply foiled the entire solid plate onto white cardstock in light pink, lavender petal and teal Spellbinders foil. Then, I cut all 3 pieces out using the Infinity Punch & Pierce Die. For my first card, I showcased all 3 pieces of the punch & pierce die. The die cuts an A2-sized border, a middle oval frame and a center oval, all from one large die. I added a black foiled sentiment from the Spellbinders Hello, Friend Sentiments Glimmer set and cut the large sentiment out using the Spellbinders Wonderful Script Sentiments Dies, which coordinate with the plates.
The teal card uses the Stylish Ovals Floral Bird Plate that I foiled with the same foil. I used the Essential Stylish Ovals Dies to cut out the image and mounted it in the center of the punch & pierce frame with foam. Again, I added a sentiment from the Hello, Friend Sentiments Glimmer Set.
And the third and final card was made exactly like the teal card, but this time I used the Stylish Oval Thanks Glimmer Set. I also foiled the Thanks sentiment and cut it out with the included coordinating die. The sentiment fits so nicely with the curves of the floral image and since this image has butterflies in it, I thought I should add some foiled butterflies as well.
I used the Spellbinders Fluttering By Glimmer set with Prism Foil and used the 4 coordinating butterfly dies to cut out the images. I then adhered 3-5 butterflies per card with foam adhesive for some interest. Finally, I added some Pinkfresh Studio Amethyst, Blossom and Lagoon Glitter Drops to match each foiled A2-sized card.
I hope you like this set of cards and please do check out the tutorial for more tips and tricks!
Have a Great Day & Happy Crafting!
