Hello! This is my first slimline and slider card, so follow along and learn from my creative mistakes. I started by cutting the large slimline background from the Lawn Fawn die set using kraft cardstock. I immediately realized that the cutting plates on my die cut machine were too short, so I cut half and then carefully lined up the die before running the other half through the machine. Next, die cut the wavy slider piece and set that aside for later.
For the heat embossed sentiment, I tried something new to me and used a black pigment ink coated in clear, glittery embossing powder. You could use your regular embossing ink with black shimmery embossing powder for a very similar effect.
I stamped the Lawn Fawn koala image using Jet Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I used a Sakura Glaze pen to make the nose and eyes a shiny black. After spending way too much time fussy cutting the koala, I added the matching die cut to my basket at ScrapbookPal. Live and learn.
Die cut the leaves from the Hero Arts background die and a piece of patterned green paper. Carefully cut apart the leaves you want to use and attach them to the card along the slider opening using Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.
To assemble the slider, I used a bunch of foam strips on the back of the slimline kraft piece, careful not to get too close to the slider opening. Attach that piece to the front of a white slimline card. Use the Lawn Fawn Glue Tube to attach the cut wavy piece, flat onto the card front (not raised like the rest). Place a penny into the slider opening, with a small strip of foam adhesive on top. Attach the koala onto the penny with that small piece of foam adhesive.
