Altenew Cape Marguerite Cards by Katie

Altenew Cape Marguerite Cards by Katie

Hey there friends, Katie here today with a beautiful die cut card. This one features the new Cape Marguerite Dies from Altenew. This set is so fun to use and there are some great features that make them so easy to use.

First off, I cut out all the layers in white paper with the intent of using Distress Oxide Inks to color them.  When you cut them, the blooms have small, embossed numbers on them so you know which go with which AND the packaging has some great pictures too.  For the blooms I used Saltwater Taffy, Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick with a touch of Mustard Seed.  I used Mowed Lawn for the leaves and Ground Espresso for the center.

For the blooms, I started with the lightest colors on for the front layers and the darker colors for each layer back. On the foremost layer, I also added some of the mustard to the center. Later, not shown in this pic, I came back in and added more yellow with a Copic to accent.  I used Y35 and Y38

Next, I used glue dots to adhere all the layers together.  Again, this set makes your life easy by putting a little cut out in the center to help you align them properly.  I start with the light layer and then add the darker layers behind.  Then I added in the flower center and leaves behind.

Next, I cut out a 4X4 sheet of cardstock and ran it through the die cut machine with Spring Leaves Cover Plate from Honey Bee Stamps.  I used some Distress Oxide Old Paper to color it.  I stamped a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Hello Wishes Stamp Set.  This I mounted on a white base.  Next, I placed my flowers on the base.  I cut some green strips to make stems and adhered them.  I tied a bit of twine around them.

Here is my bonus card for today.  Supplies for this one listed below.
