Honey Bee Stamps Cottage Countryside Collection: Ginger Jars

Honey Bee Stamps Cottage Countryside Collection: Ginger Jars

Posted by Melanie Smith on

Hello Friends,

Melanie, here from @melaniestamps and in todays post I am sharing with you a really fun project featuring the newest release from Honey Bee Stamps titled "Cottage Countryside". It is the most breathtaking collection filled with vintage inspired outdoor scenery and indoor interior design. Today we will be focusing on the Ornate Ginger Jar Suite from the collection and creating a card featuring heat embossing and stenciling.

I decided because I absolutely love blue and white china of all kinds, due to my mother's favorite color being blue and her love for tea. So I went with a monochromatic design for this card. The first thing I did was stamp out the Ginger Jars using my Misti Stamping Tool and VersaFine CLAIR ink in Paradise. This is the perfect color of blue for this china. Since Versafine is a pigment ink, I heat embossed in WOW clear heat embossing powder so that it would shine las if it was breakable like china as well. Here is a close up shot...

Lastly, for the jars, I used Copic Markers in B01 and B000 to color in the shading of the jar to create a shinny highlight so that it gave the jars a round appearance.

For the background detail on the card base, I stenciled the panel with the Ginger Jar Detailed Stencil from the collection. Lastly, I inked around the edges of that same panel with the same blue ink and a blender brush before layering everything together using the gorgeous Antique Layering Frames to layer the Ginger Jars upon.

Here is one last look at the finished card design. Below is also my YouTube video showing you the step by step techniques I used to design the card. I would absolutely love for you to join me while we Craft Life Together!
