Hey friends! Tiffany here with more card inspiration. Today, I am sharing how I created this simple, vintage card featuring the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Iris and the Blessings of Spring stamp set and coordinating dies. I love the versatility and beauty of the Lovely Layers series of products.
To start, I die cut each layer of the iris and the stem from white cardstock. I colored the flower layers by ink blending Pinkfresh Studio inks - Napa Valley and Fairy Dust.
I added additional dimension to the layers using small blending brushes and various shades of the same purple inks, a little Mustard Seed oxide ink, white pigment ink, and Candy Violet ink to add a more red purple color. The added detail gives life to the flower so it doesn't look one dimensional.
For the stem layers, I used Pinkfresh Over the Hills inks.
Once I assembled all of the pieces, I splatted everything with water and watered down white paint. I love adding splatters to everything because it adds a fun, artsy texture. I added a twine bow to the stem for a rustic detail.
To create the background, I stamped the Vintage Flora background on white cardstock. I inked the stamp with Pinkfresh Rise and Shine inks - Lemon Whip on the top portion and Sweet Mustard on the bottom portion, for a subtle, ombre look. To add to the vintage look, I added Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink to the edges. I also splattered the panel with water, white paint, and diluted brown ink.
For the sentiment, I ink blended a scrap of cardstock with the same purple inks. I stamped a sentiment from Blessings of Spring in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment with the Blessings of Spring coordinating dies. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape.
Behind the flower, I added a piece of vellum. I ripped both edges and blended Over Coffee ink on the edges. I added a piece of mummy cloth for additional texture.
Hope you enjoyed this card. Have a crafty day!
