Hello there! This is Colleen Beamish from @humorbean_cards and today I’m sharing an adorable birthday card featuring the Lawn Fawn Highland Cows! stamp set! These sweet cows are full of personality, and I couldn’t resist creating a cheerful little pasture scene complete with a punny birthday sentiment.
For the coloring, I stamped all of the images and used the coordinating Highland Cows! Coloring Stencils to ink blend each one. I love how the stencils make it easy to add soft shading while keeping the coloring process quick and consistent. A few white gel pen highlights finished them off and brought them to life.

To create the background, I die cut the Grassy Pasture Backdrop from patterned paper. The subtle plaid pattern adds just enough texture without competing with the images. I also added a bit of green ink blending around the edges to create a soft vignette and help draw the eye toward the center of the card.
After arranging the cows around the sentiment, I tucked in a few of the small flowers and grass images to fill the open spaces. One little cow is even wearing a party hat to celebrate the occasion! The mix of standing, sitting, and running cows makes the finished scene feel playful and full of movement.

I love how this card came together with just a few simple techniques: stamping, ink blending, die-cutting, and easy scene building. It’s a fun reminder that patterned paper can make a wonderful card background, especially when paired with a little ink blending to add depth.
Be sure to check out the full process video over on YouTube to see exactly how this card came together.
I hope this card inspires you to create a cheerful birthday scene with these adorable Highland Cows! Happy crafting!
