Hello Crafty Friends! Something I struggle with (alotl) in my card-making is keeping it simple. With this scene, I challenged myself to do just that. While I usually end up using ten or more stamp sets, this time, I limited myself to only one! Here's how it went:
I stamped my images on white cardstock from the Lawn Fawn set; I Like You (A lotl) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Again with some white cardstock, I cut my background with Lawn Fawn's Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables. On black cardstock, I cut out a border using Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. I attached the rectangle pieces with a tape runner before adding the card face to an A2 card blank.
To ink the background, I used a bubble stencil. I used Distress Ink colors Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, and Shaded Lilac. I stamped the sentiment in Distress Oxide color Seedless Preserves. I wanted to add more dimension to the scene, so I used Clear Glossy Accents to cover the bubbles.
After the Glossy Accents dried, I assembled the colored images to the scene. The foliage and sentiment were attached using Lawn Fawn's Glue Tube. Next, I added the adorable axolotls using some Glue Dots.
I added some white gel pen accents to my images to make them a little more interesting. For the finishing touches, I put a few Wedgewood Blue Nuvo Drops around the scene to fill it out a bit more.
