Happy Saturday crafty friends! Tiffany here with another fun, floral card to share. I used the Pinkfresh Studio, Delighted For You, suite of products to create this 5x7 inch card. I had an idea to turn the floral images into living "artwork" so I ran with it and came up with this card design. It is fun to take inspiration from other creative disciplines like fine art, interior design, or fashion to try something different with your stamps and dies. Let's get into the details.
I started by using the
Delighted For You BetterPress plate to create three floral images. I used Pinkfresh Studio Stargazer ink on white cardstock. If you have not tried yet, I encourage you to try using your dye inks with your press plates; it works nicely.
Using the
Delighted For You layering stencils, I stenciled each floral image with various Pinkfresh Studio inks resulting in a rainbow of flowers. I stenciled all of the leaves in
Stargazer. After I initially stenciled all the flowers, I went back in with darker colors on the detail layer for the flowers so it would stand out more.
After stenciling, I splattered the florals with water and white acrylic paint. Because the ink is water reactive, it gave the flowers a fun texture that I love. Splatter is always a good idea in my book.
While the flowers dried, I die cut three stitched scalloped rectangles from white cardstock. I also trimmed a piece of navy cardstock to a little less than 5x7 inches. I splattered the panel with more white paint. I insert the flowers inside each frame and cut them down accordingly.
I popped up each frame with foam tape for added dimension. And splattered some more with Stargazer ink.
I used the Spellbinders, You Are Everything, press plate and dies to create the sentiment. I added foam tape and silver thread behind the sentiment for added detail. And embellished with clear sequins for a little sparkle.
This card came together pretty easily. I hope it inspires you to try something similar. Until next time, stay crafty!
