Spellbinders | Simon’s Space Adventure Collection

Posted by Colleen Beamish on

Hi there! It’s Colleen Beamish here from @humorbean_cards. Today I’m sharing a retro-inspired, space-themed card featuring the Spellbinders Simon’s Space Adventure Collection.

The rocket ship, which serves as the focal point of this card, is from the To the Moon die set. I die cut all of the pieces from various colors of card stock and enjoyed piecing them together with liquid glue. The die embosses guidelines so you know exactly where each piece should go!

My other favorite part of this card making process was creating the background. I used a variety of Distress Oxide Inks including Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, and Shaded Lilac. I finished it off with water and acrylic paint splatters. I love the cosmic, space-feel this adds!

I assembled my card using foam tape behind the white star panels I created using the Starry Night 3D Embossing Folder and doubling up the foam tape behind my rocket ship. A sentiment from the Space Greetings die set was the final touch.

To see the entire card making process, be sure to watch the video on the Scrapbook Pal YouTube Channel!

Happy crafting!
