Hey there, crafty crew! 👋 Welcome back to the ScrapbookPal Blog!
I’m Deepa from @deezinesbyd, and I’m so excited to share this sweet and cozy holiday card featuring Pinkfresh Studio’s The Shelf Edit: Magic of the Season suite. As the seasons start shifting, I couldn’t resist diving into some festive crafting—it’s never too early to start spreading that magical holiday spirit!
This card is extra special because it captures the warmth of a winter village scene with a touch of whimsy. Between the reindeer, the glowing houses, and the cozy trees, it feels like a little holiday story frozen in time. Best of all, the one-piece press plate and die allow you to foil the entire set of images at the same time. If you’d like to see the full process step by step, be sure to check out the YouTube tutorial linked below for all the details.
To start, I reached for the Pinkfresh Studio Evergreen Sparkle background die plate—it adds instant texture and depth while keeping things soft and wintry. I love the subtle detail because it makes the whole card feel handcrafted. I layered the Evergreen Sparkle panel over a clean white card base for a light, airy feel, then tucked in a blue cardstock panel behind it to really make the stars shine and let the colorful die cuts pop.
The focal point of this card is definitely the little pastel village. I started by foiling the images in Spellbinders Matte Gold, then added soft inky colors before die cutting the two sweet little houses from white cardstock. That warm candlelight effect adds such coziness to the card.
To frame the scene, I tucked in layered evergreen trees in shades of teal and green. Adding just a touch of darker ink around the edges of the trees makes them look dimensional and brings the whole background to life.
What’s a holiday card without a little character? I couldn’t resist adding a sweet reindeer with a golden bow tie—he’s the perfect finishing touch for this woodland scene. Around him, I sprinkled in a few extra holiday elements like a decorated tree and some greenery to balance the composition.
For the sentiment, I went with a fun foiled phrase from the suite: “Watching, Waiting, & Wishing.” No holiday card is complete without sparkle! ✨ I scattered some Pinkfresh Studio Clear with Gold Dust gems across the background to mimic twinkling stars in the night sky. This tiny detail brings the whole card to life and gives it that extra festive glow.
In the end, this card came together as a soft, dreamy holiday scene that feels both cozy and joyful. I love how the pastel houses, sparkling sentiment, and little reindeer create such a heartwarming story. Crafting this card definitely has me in the holiday spirit already—and I hope it inspires you to start on your own handmade creations too!
Have a Great Day & Happy Crafting!
