Spellbinders - Beyond The Door

Spellbinders - Beyond The Door

Posted by Kathy Schweinfurth on

Imagine being in Italy and stepping out to view the Mediterranean Sea beyond the door!  Spellbinders new La Dolce Vita Collection is like taking an amazing vacation that you can experience without even leaving your work space!

Here's how I created my card...

1.  I cut all the elements needed from Spellbinders Beyond The Door dies to create the scene.  There are so many decorative combinations you can make or even use the elements on their own such as a grouping of potted plants/flowers to create a simple card or create your own scene Beyond The Door such as a sunset, waves and maybe a small sailboat.

2.  Then the fun part...assembling the diecuts which I glued together using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue (the fine metal tip makes it easy to apply a thin amount of glue for the small pieces).

3.  For the background of the card, I took white cardstock and embossed it with Spellbinders Lemon Fresco 3D Embossing Folder - also from the La Dolce Vita Collection - and adhered it to the card base.

4.  The last step was to build the scene with all the assembled diecuts:

     a) Taking the blue arched diecut, I adhered the 'stone path', then the 'water', then the
         clouds.
     b) Next, I adhered the two door frames around the blue arch and added the 'doors'.
     c)  Then, I adhered the stone steps to the bottom of the doorway.
     d)  The floral garland was then adhered around the door and the light fixture was added
to the top of the door.
     e)  Last, I arranged and popped up the potted plants.

5.  To finish, I diecut the sentiment from pink cardstock using the Spellbinders La Dolce Vita Banners dies.
