Trim The Tree Card

Posted by Cassie Trask on

Hello there! Cassie here for ScrapbookPal.com, and I’m here to show you a Christmas card I made using some Avery Elle products. I started out by placing the main image from the Christmas Kids stamp set by Avery Elle into my MISTI and inking it up with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad. All of those cute little kiddos were colored using Copic Markers (listed down below). Once they were all colored, I placed the coordinating Christmas Kids die over the top and ran it through my die cutting machine.

For my background, I pulled out some of the Distress Woodgrain Cardstock and used the Avery Elle Snow Scene die on it. Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, I sponged some Distress Oxide inks onto my panel in the colors Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. Then I mixed up some water and Perfect Pearls Powder to splatter all over that night sky background. I adhered it to my white cardstock panel using some Tombow Mono Adhesive.

I stamped out my sentiment onto some black cardstock using Versamark Watermark Ink and then covered that in white embossing powder and heat set it until it was smooth and melted. I trimmed it down and then covered the back of it and my colored kiddos with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares. Then I adhered both to my cardstock panel. As a finishing touch to my card front, I used my C3 Copic to draw in some snowbanks.

I finished off the inside by stamping the kids with some Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink and then stamping the sentiment using some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink. Because I’m really good at smudging things, I had to grab out my Mono Sand Eraser. That tool is so clutch!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope this inspires you to go get crafty!

~Cassie
