Hey crafty friends!
I have a tutorial for a “Wizard of Oz” card. My 5 year old daughter and I watched "The Wizard of Oz" together the other day. I was amazed at how into it she was. She loved watching the witch, the scarecrow and Dorothy so much. It cracked me up how literally she took everything that happened in it. I've always loved old movies, especially musicals, so it was so fun to share something like that with her. Naturally, as we watched, I found my mind straying to my stamp sets and thinking, "Hey, I could make that with these stamps", so here we are. The red shoes under the house are my favorite detail! I love them so much!
Step 1. I started by cutting an 8 ½” x 7” panel for my card, then folded it in half.
Step 2. Then, I cut a slightly smaller panel (about 8 ¼” x 3 ¼” , for my base.
Step 3. Next, I stamped the girl, dog and flowers from Bicycle Built for You. The witch and broom from Costume Party. The large rock from Mermaid for You. The house from Happy Village, the shoes and bicycle from Village Shops. The castle from Critters Ever After and the rainbow from Rain or Shine. Yikes! Lots of sets, right? I also cut a grassy border with my lawn cuts set.
Step 4. Then I colored all my images with my copic markers. I wanted the colors on the left to be mostly black and white, so I inked the sky and grass gray on the left side of my panel, and blue and green on the right. I also drew the tornado using a black copic multiliner. After I colored all of my images, I cut them out using the coordinating dies. I drew the legs under the house, then added the shoes to them.
I love cards that are based on favorite books or movies! So much fun to create!
