A Summer Night's Concert by Lena

A Summer Night's Concert by Lena

I've always enjoyed outdoor summer night concerts: there's certain magic associated with listening to the music with your best friends under the stars. When I purchased these Lawn Fawn musical critters I immediately pictured in my mind a concert happening on a pleasant evening somewhere in the forest with this enthusiastic little conductor flying back and forth conducting the band. Their music naturally attracted other critters to come join them. This turned into a card that I am going to send as a "note" to one of my favorite concert-attending buddies.

Step 1: Color and die-cut the critters from Critter Concert and Upon a Star stamp sets.

Step 2: Creating a summer night scene: I used the stars from Upon a Star stamp set and the Ranger blending tool to create the summer night with the distress ink (colors listed in the section of items used). Then, using Slide on Over die set, I created a track in the night sky for the little chicken.

Step 3: In order for the track to not show as obviously on the card base, on the card base I also did a regional night sky background. Also, my original thought was to create the grass field using the same technique as the night sky, but I ended up not liking how it turned out and covered it up with die-cut grass instead.

Step 4: Assemble the slider card.

Step 5: Now I have a card with a little conductor flying around conducting a summer night's concert!
