Hey there, crafty crew! 👋 Welcome back to the ScrapbookPal Blog!
Â
I’m Deepa from @deezinesbyd, and today I’m sharing a soft, elegant card duo featuring the Altenew Build-A-Garden: Happy Blossoms kit. These two cards are extra fun because they were created as a 2-for-1 card deal—perfect when you want to stretch your supplies and create more in less time 🌸✨
Â

For this set, I started by creating two coordinating backgrounds, then cut them apart and alternated the pieces to form two completely different card designs. This simple switch-up is one of my favorite tricks because it’s fast, beginner-friendly, and ideal for mass production—especially when you need a stack of cards in a hurry.
Â
The florals were colored using Pinkfresh Studio inks in Doe, Warm Buff, Lemon Whip, Peach Fuzz, and Sparkling Rose, giving the blooms a soft, warm palette that feels fresh, happy, and timeless. These inks blend beautifully and make it easy to achieve smooth color transitions without overthinking the process.
Â
Â
To add subtle texture without overwhelming the design, I used the Pinkfresh Studio Modern Mosaic Cover Die to create a faux-embossed background from soft pink cardstock. This adds just enough interest and dimension while keeping the cards clean and elegant—perfect for letting the florals shine.
Â

Both cards were finished with simple sentiment strips and a few sparkly embellishments for balance and polish. By keeping the layouts similar but not identical, you get two coordinated cards that feel intentional and cohesive without looking like exact duplicates.
Â

This is such a great example of how smart cutting, ink blending, and background dies can help you create more while spending less time at your craft table. I hope this project inspires you to try a 2-for-1 background technique and build a beautiful card stash with ease.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting! 🌸💕
Have a Great Day & Happy Crafting!
