Honey Bee Stamps | Lovely Layers: Bird Bath

Honey Bee Stamps | Lovely Layers: Bird Bath

Posted by Colleen Beamish on

Hi there! It’s Colleen Beamish here from @humorbean_cards, and today I’m excited to share an elegant Father’s Day card I created using some beautiful products from Honey Bee Stamps. This one is a heartfelt design that’s simple to make, but full of thoughtful details—and it’s perfect for celebrating a special dad.

The focal point of this card is the bird bath from the Lovely Layers: Bird Bath die set. I used three shades of gray cardstock to layer the pieces, giving it subtle dimension and a realistic feel. To create the water effect, I used a holographic blue cardstock—it catches the light beautifully and gives the illusion of shimmering water. I finished the scene by adding a couple of tiny birds perched on the rim of the bath, which I think adds just the right touch of charm.

For the background, I wanted something understated but elegant. I used the large background stamp from the Always and Forever stamp set and stamped it onto a piece of green cardstock trimmed to 3.75” x 5”. I heat embossed the image to give it a glossy, raised texture. The background frames the scene perfectly without stealing the spotlight.

To assemble the card, I used foam tape behind the bird bath for added depth and layered the entire panel onto a card base. For the sentiment, I chose the phrase “May your day be filled with the love you give us,” which felt especially meaningful for Father’s Day. I die-cut and stacked the sentiment with three layers of cardstock to make it pop off the card and tie in with the layered bird bath.

I absolutely love how this card turned out. It’s serene, meaningful, and full of texture—and I know my dad is going to appreciate the thought behind it. Whether you’re crafting for a father, grandfather, or any father figure in your life, this design is a beautiful way to show your appreciation.

Happy Crafting!
