Instructions:
My card today features the flamingos and leaves from the Birds of Paradise stamp set and coordinating dies, along with a sentiment from the Tropical Tweets stamp set.
I started by stamping all of the images in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink (alternative) onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then, I got down to coloring. The flamingos are YR0000, YR00, YR65, and R05, with W4, W6, and W9 for their beaks. The leaves are G00, G02, and G05, and the little yellow flower is Y06 and Y18. When I finished coloring, I die cut the images and set them aside.
Next, I worked on the background which is an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. Using foam blending tools, I ink-blended Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin, Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks. When the panel was dry, I stamped the two-piece sentiment in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, masking off one part of a sentiment to leave behind “it’s your birthday.”
To assemble the card, I arranged the leaves and adhered them with Glue Dots. Then I adhered the flamingos with foam tap, over top. Finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
