Lawn Fawn | Critter Conversation Hearts

Lawn Fawn | Critter Conversation Hearts

Posted by Deepa Robbins on

Hey there, crafty crew! 👋 Welcome back to the ScrapbookPal Blog!

I’m Deepa from @deezinesbyd, and today I’m sharing a sweet, playful Valentine card featuring the Critter Conversation Hearts Stamp, Die & Stencil sets by Lawn Fawn. There’s just something magical about turning cute critters and bold colors into a handmade Valentine, and these sets makes it effortless with perfectly coordinated stamps, dies, and stencils—ideal for creating cheerful cards that feel nostalgic, fun, and full of love.

This card was especially fun to create because it combines bright color, stitched texture, and adorable character details. The bold red background instantly sets a festive tone, while the aqua stenciled panel adds contrast and a modern twist. If you’d like to see exactly how this card came together from start to finish, be sure to check out the YouTube video linked below!

I used the Checkered Hearts Backdrop Landscape Cover Die to create the stitched heart pattern across the background with an aqua cardstock panel. This step adds subtle texture and visual interest without overwhelming the design. I love how Lawn Fawn cover dies give you that extra layer of detail while keeping everything beginner-friendly and easy to replicate.

Next came the stars of the show—the critters! I stamped all the adorable animals from the Critter Conversation Hearts Stamp set, then added color using the coordinating stencils with Pinkfresh Studio inks in soft, warm tones to keep the focus on their sweet expressions and heart messages. Each little critter holds a conversation heart sentiment, adding personality and charm while keeping the Valentine theme front and center.

For the sentiment, I layered simple word strips across the card to spell out a cheerful Valentine greeting. This keeps the design playful and balanced while guiding the eye across the card. I also added the cute shaped and worded paper clips onto the checkered backdrop panel (from the Lawn Fawn Paper Clips die set) in various cardstock colors, which makes this card so playful and fun! I finished everything off with a mix of heart-shaped embellishments and metallic accents for just a touch of sparkle and dimension. The little heart embellishments are the negative pieces from the die sets used in this card. This is one of those genius, why-didn’t-I-think-of-that sets—designed to work harder for you so you can create more, stress less, and save those crafty pennies.

In the end, this card came together as a bright, happy Valentine design that’s perfect for friends, or anyone who loves cute handmade cards. I hope this project inspires you to mix bold color palettes with whimsical stamps and have fun creating your own conversation-heart critters this Valentine’s Day!

Have a Great Day & Happy Crafting!
