Lawn Fawn Doily Hearts Love Card

Lawn Fawn Doily Hearts Love Card

Posted by April Leithner on

Hello and welcome to the blog!  April Leithner (@inkycreationswithapril) here today with this cute love card featuring the Doily Hearts Die from Lawn Fawn.  I also grabbed Lawn Fawn’s Tiny Gift Box Add-On Panda & Bear Die Set.  I wanted to show how to take a set meant to be used on a 3D box and use it on a card.  I love getting the most from my supplies, and using sets in different ways really stretches your products.

This card features several of my favorite techniques.  There is ink blending, die cutting, sprays and splatters, and a distressed edge.

·       Spray mixed media cardstock with Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray.  Dry, then add splatters using the Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Spray.

·       Splatter with Frozen Fog Distress Mica Stain.  Tip:  Use paint brush or nozzle to add splatters.  Let dry completely.

·       Die cut the Doily Hearts Die from Lawn Fawn using red cardstock and light pink cardstock.

·       Die cut all the pieces needed to create the panda from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box Add-On Panda & Bear Die Set twice as two pandas are needed.

·       Use Distress Ink in Black Soot (dark panda parts), Spun Sugar (inside of ears), Kitsch Flamingo (Heart and Bow), and Lumberjack Plaid (Heart) to color die cut pieces using Mini Blending Brushes.

 ·       Adhere all pieces together to create the two pandas.

·       Ink blend edges of the two doilies with a Mini Blending Brush.  Use Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink for the red doily and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink for the light pink doily.

·       Use Foam Squares to pop up a panda on each doily.

·       Use Paper Distresser Tool to rough up the edges of the oxide sprayed panel.

·       Adhere both doilies to panel then adhere to landscape heavy weight card base.

·       Die cut sentiment using “Love" and "You” from Altenew’s Versatile Greetings Die Set three times out of light gray cardstock and shadows out of black cardstock.

·       Adhere the light gray die cuts together then to the black shadow pieces.

·       Adhere these in the lower right corner of card.

·       Finish card by adding some gems from Altenew’s Gem Sparkles Smoky Quartz around the card.

Are you busy making Valentine projects?  This cute panda card has me getting all my Valentine and Love products out to create love themed projects for the next few weeks.  Thanks for stopping by the blog!!
