Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate by Katie

Hey there friends, Katie here today with a super fun card for anyone who likes CHEESE or mice.  I am pretty sure my husband drooled when he looked at this. 😉

The best thing about Lawn Fawn is that you can mix and match and pair them all together and they fit seamlessly.  You will see what I mean here.

I started by stamping the images using my Misti on white, Copic friendly paper.  I stamped images from both the Simply Celebrate Critters and Bubbles of Joy Stamp sets.  For the sentiments, I mixed and matched using the main set and the Simply Celebrate Critters Add-On set.  For this the Misti came in handy because I stamped the odd numbered bubbles first and then the even to make sure there was a enough space for them all.

Next, I colored my images with  Copics and then cut them out with the coordinating dies or fussy cut the ones I didn’t have (Bubbles of Joy) I set these aside and set to making my cheese.

For the cheese, I cut a strip of roughly 2.25 X 5 inch cardstock.  I used my LF stackable circle dies to cut out notches and make this layer look like Swiss cheese with holes. I repeated this process until I had the notches I wanted.

The next step was to color my cheese, and while I wanted it to look like Swiss in style, I wanted more cheddary (yes that is a word 😉) colors. I used Mustard Seed distress ink on this layer.

I cut another piece the same size and used Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin on this layer as it was going to be the inside of the cheese. I placed foam tape on the under side of the yellow layer and joined my cheese together.

At this point, all I had to do was assemble my card and add some gel highlights.  After searching through my patterned paper, I decided the backdrop would look best in the same color scheme, so I added that to the base with my adhesive tape, then mounted all my mice and speech bubbles.  I used the Bubbles of Joy mice for the inside of the cheese because they had the perfect poses. Here is one more look at that one

To give you a few extra ideas, I have a bonus card today.  This one

It is always fun to come up with new and creative ideas for combining these stamps, I hope you like these cards.  Thank you for visiting and be sure to check out the shop to pick up some of these goodies.
