Hi crafty friends!
Raquel here from @paintsandglitter sharing a fun card made with Spellbinders Feathered Friends. This is a collection of BetterPress plates and dies that include a hen, rooster and chick with coordinating dies and three sentiments. If you love a homespun look to your crafting, you are going to love this collection!
Today’s card will feature the rooster and the sentiment that reads: “Wishing You a Beautiful Day”. I think it would be great for a masculine card! Using Cloud 9 Interference ink in Charcoal Gold, and the BetterPress system, I pressed this image duo onto a piece of 300GSM card. With the same ink, I saturated a 4”x 5.5” watercolor matting layer. A large Nuvo blending brush made the ink application super easy, and the coordinating dies allowed me to cut the pressed images to later use on the card.
To activate the interference ink, I wet the paper with small droplets of water and also used the Plaid Company embossing folder to give it more textural interest.
To further embellish this card, I wrapped a piece of twine of the left side and anchored it using scrappy tape. To this, I also added an antique mother of pearl button with a twine knot and attached it using 3D foam squares. To finish this card, I added coordinating matting layers that I adhered onto a black base of heavy card. Finished dimensions of this card are: Base: 4.5” x 12, folded at 6”. Matting layers: 4 3/8” x 5 7/8”, 4 ¼” x 5 ¾”, 4” x 5 5”.
