MFT Stamps Zen Friends by Nancy

HELLO FRIENDS! I’m Nancy Sheads from Rowhouse Greetings and I’m back with a new project featuring some of the stamps from the recent release by My Favorite Things. I loved the image of the koala bear and decided to make her the focus of my card.

Today’s project features:
  • Zen Friends - My Favorite Things
  • Zen Friends Die-namics - My Favorite Things
  • Rectangle Trio Stencil - My Favorite Things
  • Copic coloring (see marker list below)
  • Additional supplies listed below

I started with the background, pulling out my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion which I like to use for projects like this. It’s perfect for holding both the paper and stencil in place while ink blending. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and placed it on the Make Art Stay-tion. I centered the Rectangle Trio Stencil on the paper and then aligned the top of the stencil with the top of the paper to make sure that it was straight.

Using a domed foam blending tool, I ink blended shades of blue and green Distress Inks, working from bottom to top in Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon.

To finish the background, I placed the background in my Misti Stamping Tool and stamped the sentiment below the stenciled striped with Versafine Ink in Onyx Black. Then I stamped the palm tree from the Zen Friends stamp set as shown to complete the background as shown below.

I stamped the koala and palm tree images from the Zen Friends stamp set on a Copic friendly paper using Amalgam Ink in Obsidian. I colored the images using the Copic markers listed below.

YG01, YG03, YG17, YG67, E23 (palm tree)

W1, W3, W5, W7 (koala)

RV55, RV63 (yoga mat)

Once the coloring was completed, I used the coordinating Zen Friends Die-namics to trim the images. I applied 3D Foam Small Squares to the back of the images to add dimension and adhered them to the background as shown. Then I glued the card front to the card base using 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue.Let’s take another look at the finished card!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card! See you again soon!

Nancy
