Oh Gnome! Get Well Card by Jennifer

Posted by Jennifer Kotas on

I made this card for my 99 year old aunt who was ill recently. She loves it and shows everyone who visits her!

Instructions

Step 1. Stamp, color and die cut the gnomes, mushrooms, flowers and wheelbarrow from Oh Gnome!

Step 2. Die cut mushroom house, butterflies, tufts of grass, grass hill and mushroom hill from Mushroom House and Mushroom Border Lawn Cuts from various card stock colors

Step 3. Shade the card stock die cuts using coordinating copic markers.

Step 4. Stamp the main greeting with Versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder onto the hill.

Step 5. Assemble the mushroom house. Inlay the yellow pieces or they can be placed behind the openings instead.

Step 6. Line up the mushroom hill and the grass hill so the mushrooms peak from behind. Adhere them together flat.

Step 7. Cut a 4 1/4x5 1/2” piece of Bristol Smooth card stock. Add clouds using a cloud stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. Adhere the mushroom and grass hills to this panel with foam tape.

Step 8. Place mushroom house behind grass using foam tape. Tip it at a slight angle to add whimsy to the scene.

Step 9. Arrange and adhere stamped images throughout scene.

Step 10. Stamp two speech bubbles from Oh Gnome!, add sentiments and die cut. Add some light Copic coloring to soften the white areas.

Step 11. Stamp and die cut four red hearts from Oh Gnome! Adhere them to the scene and apply glossy accents.

Step 12. Adhere butterflies only at their center and fold the wings up. Cover them with shimmer from a shimmer pen.

Step 13. Place die cut grass sections in front of gnomes to help ground the images.

Step 14. Add highlights to images with a white gel pen.

Step 15. Cut off anything hanging over the sides of the panel.

Step 16. Adhere to a card base measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4.
