Hello crafty friends! Lieschen here from @Harshgurl excited to share my first card tutorial as part of the ScrapbookPal Design team. I LOVE Christmas time so any time I make a Christmas card I put extra love and joy into it.
The main focus of this mini slimline card is the beautiful Sizzix Yuletide die by Tim Holtz. You can create such beautiful wreaths with this die set! For this card, I die cut each piece twice to give it extra dimension.
I wanted nontraditional colors for this wreath, so I used one of my favorite colors: pink. Once I die cut all the pieces, I glued them together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I did add a piece of Crafty Foam Tape on the bell, which proved useful when I glued it onto the front panel piece of the card.
After that, I trimmed a piece to use as the front panel of my mini slimline card and ran it through my die cutting/embossing machine using the Altenew 3D Embossing Folder Tree Bark. Once this was done, I wanted it to look like distress wood, so I added a bit of Vintage Photo distress oxide ink on the cardstock.
I needed to add a sentiment for this card, so I used one of the sentiments from Spellbinders Joyful Christmas foil plate and die set.
I didn't want the sentiment to get lost against the white background, so I used Catherine Pooler's Be Mine ink to add some color to the foiled sentiment.
Now for the fun part - gluing all the elements onto the card base! I even used one of the berries dies from the Yuletide die set to make it look like a doorknob. Now it looks like a wooden door with a pretty wreath on it!
