Spellbinder's Sky's the Limit Collection

Posted by April Leithner on

Hello and welcome to the Scrapbook Pal Blog.  April Leithner (@inkycreationswithapril) here with you today and I am bringing you a fun die cut card.  I love die sets and how many options they provide.  For this card I am die cutting my kite images from the Spellbinders Sky’s the Limit Collection Fly a Kite Die Set using white cardstock then ink blending the individual pieces.  You can also use colored cardstock to die cut all the images.

·       Die cut the 3rd largest die from the Spellbinders Essential Arches Die Set with a dark blue cardstock.

·       Die cut the 4th largest die from this same set using white cardstock.

·       Cut a 4.25x5.5” panel from a light blue cardstock for the back panel of this card.

·       Die cut all the pieces for two of the kites using the Fly a Kite Die Set from white cardstock.

·       Use Altenew’s Mini Ink Blending Brushes to color all the pieces.  Catherine Pooler Mini Ink Pads: Twilight (Kite Strings), Rockin’ Red (Kite and Tail), Dress Blues (Kite and Tail), Lemongrass (Bows and Ribbons).  Use a lighter hand when ink blending to get the lighter shades of the red and blue.

·       Glue all pieces together with liquid adhesive.

·       Use a Pebble Cotton Panel and Black Betterpress Ink to run the Spellbinders Soaring Sentiments Press Plate through a Betterpress Letterpress System.

·       Use coordinating die to cut out all the wonderful sentiments.  There are many great ones to choose from so pick what fits your needs.

·       Layer and adhere the two layering arches together.

·       Wrap arches with some Black Twine from Lawn Fawn and tie a bow to the right side.

·       Use Foam Squares to pop both kites up on your arch panel, tucking the kite strings underneath the twine.

·       Use Foam Squares cut into thin strips to pop up sentiment over the twine.

·       Use more Foam Squares to pop up the arched panel on the A2 light blue panel.

·       Adhere to a heavy weight card base and use some Altenew Red Sunset Enamel Dots to scatter over arched panel on card.

I think the Sky’s the Limit Collection from Spellbinders is perfect for spring and summer.  This card is sure to make the recipient smile.  Make sure to head over to the Scrapbook Pal shop and see the entire collection.  Take care and happy crafting!!
