Spellbinders Stitched Bright | Stitched String Lights

Posted by Irene Mejia on

Hello, friends! Irene here with a Christmas Card made with the Stitched String Lights dies from the Spellbinders Stitched Bright Collection.

I began by trimming kraft cardstock to A2 size, white, and printed vellum to 3.75 x 5 inches, along with a champagne-colored glitter frame using stacked dies. Next, I die-cut the stringed lights dies. I selected four shades of pink for the lights and matte gold cardstock for the string and bases. I die-cut one solid and one perforated cut for each light.

I placed a small piece of double-sided tape on the back of the perforated cuts, which helped me keep control of the thread ends. I added stitching using a sewing needle and Coats & Clark metallic gold thread. I started at the center and stitched outward and then around.

Next, I glued the gold bases to the solid pink die-cuts and glued the stitched cuts on top. I assembled the card panel with liquid glue. I added the printed vellum over the white cardstock and glued a glittery frame. I added the smaller panel to the kraft cardstock.

I then glued the string diagonally across the top left side. I glued the assembled Christmas lights over the string from lightest to darkest. Next, I embellished the card with Honey Bee Stamps Autmn champagne pearls stickers between the lights. Lastly, I created the sentiment with the Spellbinders Handmade Sentiment dies. I used pink cardstock for "Christmas Wishes" and cut a solid glitter cardstock as a glittery sentiment shadow. All done!
